Hi folks, trying to get my door cards off to fix window regulator as my cabby windows are rattling - can anyone help? Seems there is a screw in the centre of the door near the grip handle, but I can't find it as there is no oval cover as in saloons/avants.
Thanks!

Hi There,
I know this may be a bit late looking at the date of your post. But I was in the same position as you today, on my 2003 Cab. Couldnt find the bloody middle screw anywhere! Then sussed out that you can lift out the electric window switch's. The unit pops out by using a screw driver from the front end of the switch unit. The last screw is behind this. I hope this is not too little too late but I just stumbled on your question whilst looking for the window regulator problem myself. Cheers!

Ive gone through the whole process a long screwdriver will push the window buttons off via the hole underneath, revealing the bolts to undo, then slide off the trim above carefully as the plastic clips seem fragile, theres also a screw under the door in the middle. Then go round the door trim at the edge where it meets the paint work and pull slightly all the way round it should ease off, you need a matt or cloth on the floor before you start to rest the door panel on when it comes off.
Ive got a 2002 Cab and need to repair the window regulator Audi want £110 for the whole unit when I only need a repair kit (wire) there are repair kits on ebay for A4's but nothing for a Cab, has anyone found a cheap solution Thanks Phil T

Hi, has anyone found the repair kit that Phil has referred to in the North West?
I only need the wire part aswell not the motor which is working fine.
Cheers.

Hi, I've had to remove the door trims to get at my a4 cabrioet passenger window as it has got stuck at the open position and seems to think it's at the top(when you open and close the door the window closes up as it does normally just a few millimetres). on removing the panel i'm faced with the motor and another panel with grey foam stuck to it which i will also need to remove in order to reach the window mechanism. any ideas as to what the problem might be and how to fix it. I'd rather have a go first than pay the stupid money my local dealership will charge.
thanks in advance.

My window was doing the same as yours just travelling a few millimetres each time, it's a good possibility it's down to the cable being shredded and getting caught on the cable linings that are on the mechanism attached to the motor. It's quite a painful job to take it out and nobody seems to have a replacement mechanism, Audi want £117 for it, felt like a kick in the ..... my way round this after many attempts of detangling the snapped threads on the cable was my daughters old push bike back brake cable to replace the bad cable. Only just done this so how long it will last remains to be seen. The reason the window does this from what I can see is it is sensitive to pressure on the upwards motion, i.e. as if a hand was being caught in it to stop the window. Mine is on 52 plate. Hope this will help and hopefully save you some £ in the process. All the best for the new year and good luck.
