Hi can someone help?

I just bought a vag com USB cable with an ODB2 connector off ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230137809176&rd=1&rd=1
and am trying to connect it to vagcom 409.1, on my laptop. Once the drivers installed, it has installed as a serial port to com 2.

trouble is when I start vag com and do the test, it says port status is ok but "interface not found." I did the LED test as well that performs fine but the first test does not seem to connect.

I have set the cable in Device Manager as COM Port 2 and have chosen the same COM port in VAG COM but no joy.

There are no conflicts either in device manager

I have also tried it connected to the car with the ignition on but still no luck.

Help please

have you made sure that the cable is compatible with the 409 version of vagcom?
