Hi folks,

I'm toying with the idea of converting a coupe (probably a 2.6E) to diesel. Sacrilege, I know, but I'm wanting to know if putting say a 1.9 or 2.0 tdi block and all the metering etc into to engine bay will actually be feasible and will it fit?
Ideally it would be a 170 bhp unit and give the best of both worlds - a bit of poke and the economy to keep the car usable.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Sounds like an interesting project, what about sticking with a v6 and going 2.5/2.7 or 3.0 v6 tdi, such refinement.

That's an even better idea!

Anyone know if it will fit?

Cheers.

I'm no expert ,but I believe the petrols and diesels in v6 form are very similar in dimensions, so why not?
Maybe a few issues with hooking it all up but there are plenty of boys on the forum who can tell you why or why not.
Good luck
