Hi all, Just joined this forum page today and need some help from someone who know's about 2.8 v6 coupe 92 plate. When i bought my car car i got it cheap as it failed on it's mot and i have decided to do it up and put it through it's mot again. The main points were it has a water & coolant leak the fuel lines need replaced and the front and rear brake discs need replacing. If anybody knows what i should do about the water & coolant leak can they let me know. I'm in the process of buying kunifer coil packs and fixings and getting someone to replace them but i need to source good cheap brake discs. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Sugest you concentrate on the more important problem first - the coolant leak . Every else is quite straight forward .

To find any coolant leak sources, you need to check all the components of the coolant system for any discolouration left by any leaks or signs of weeping. This is probably best carried out on ramps. The radiator, oil cooler, water pump, thermostat, hoses ,etc all need to be closely examined. There is a dye that can be added to the expansion tank to help make any leaks more visible. If you search for “coolant leak dye” on the internet you should find more details of the dye. I would imagine most motor factors will sell it. The radiator expansion tank should be checked for any sign of scum or oily film on the sides of the tank. Any evidence here could mean you have a leaking head gasket.
Good luck.
