Hi all, further to my previous post on my current clutch / gearbox issues (Been told that clutch failure is due to possible hole in gearbox leaking oil onto clutch plate). I have just remembered that I have a small oil leak from the tandem pump which I replaced last year, nothing major, which is why I hadn't got around to sorting it yet, but it has just occurred to me that this is directly over the engine/gearbox joint.
Is it possible that the tandem pump weep could be the source of the contamination on the clutch plate, or is this joint completely sealed to the engine bay?
Has anyone ever come across clutch contamination from a source outside of the bell housing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am looking at forking out £350 for a gearbox today!!!
