MK5 Golf GT TDI Oil Level

Hi,

I have a Golf MK5 GT TDI 140, 2004, 60k, FSH etc etc.

When using the car on long journeys (2 hrs +) the check oil level indicator comes on the dashboard ?
It has happened on a few occassions now ?
The VW oil is 5w 30 - I assume this is correct although this is very thin ???

When this happens the level is on the low side but not of major concern ??

All other points are OK - water, clean oil, no smoke etc

Any ideas ????????

Why not top-up and try out on long journey ?
