i have just bought a audi a3t x reg real cheap it has a few problems i hope they are not too serious,
first off when i start the car it revs up to 1500 rpm then kind of slumps up and down between 1000-1500 rpm then after 60 seconds makes a weired noise and instantly calms just below 1000, i think this is the auto choke sound. the car only does this mornings and after work.
if i try to pull away during the 60 second warmup the car kind of jerks a little and feels like it may stall.
i purchased a vag-com cable and software to try keep this cheap as possible and generated these codes.

i have cleared all the codes and the engine man light has gone off no light has come back on i drove it round for a while and still no light.
i also have the air bag light on my dash and recieved this code.
[/B]
01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Front Passenger Side (N200): Resistance too High
i cleared the airbag codes and the light came back on almost instantly, this light on the dash is very anoying and large letters is there way of clearing these codes manualy or ajusting vag com settings.
im not sure on the mpg of the car as i have only had it 3 days and never had a good run out yet the car drives fine after the little warmup and does not lack power
(i dont think) also i have the haynes manual and it suggests the the timing belt replace every 60,000 but the audi service book says every 20k the car has 140k on the clock and has been audi serviced up to early 2007 and had timming belt kit renewed at 105,000 in 2007 (its last audi service) and i cant see any cracks or wear on the belt, should i change it?
any help will be much appreciated.
