Hi ,I'm no expert, just an enthusiast but all I've ever read on tuning these v6's, is that there is not much you can do other than a bolt on super charger or mega expensive custom internals upgrades.
In reference to hiking up the oomph,it's worth remembering that the convertibles are quite a bit heavier than the coupes.

Good luck in your endeavour

I don't really know much on this topic but I believe there is often mention on this forum of a site, along the lines of v6 ,12v ,dot org.
I think it maybe an American site, but not overly sure, surely someone will put us right.
Possibly worth a look in the archive posts, or re-title your post "V6 SUPERCHARGED 80 RAGTOP" that may generate some interest from like minded fellas

Some insight in this thread:

http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7489&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=supercharge&start=25

Motorgeek is associated with 034 motorsports, they may offer some tuning for the 12v, not looked in a while, but as a tuning exercise the v6 is ignored by most tuners.
A guy called Mance Etheridge (sp?) posts as VAP on Audiworld Forum, he has done a lot with them and shares his knowledge, I find Audiworld a nightmare so good luck with that!

This one covers a 2.8 sc install..

Which morphed into this:

Personally, I think a 2.7 twin turbo would be a better proposition, but the turbo's would foul the chassis legs on an install into a B4. Either 'massage' chassis or make custom manifolds.
4.2 v8 is also possible see projects section at Motorgeek

Like the idea of a v8. does any1 know if these engines would connect 2 my 2.6 gearbox without any probs as I heard the gearbox and engines are mostly interchangeable.
Thanks:biglaugh:

A majority of V8's came with autoboxes, but can be converted to run with manual. (manual flywheel) block has dual bolt pattern so can be used with 01 series gearboxes.
Extra torque of a v8 may mean a tdi 01E/01X box would be a better bet, strength and ratio wise?
