Im thinking of adding a boost gauge to my GT tdi (150) just wondered what the opinions are wether its worth it or not. also wether to get an ajustable one. can the turbo cope with being adjusted?
many thanks

If you upgrade the nozzle it pays to have an exhaust temp. gauge(EGT) and a boost gauge(will help diagnose an early turbo failure). You will blow the turbocharger quicker if you get an adjustable one plus there are a few sensors that wont like a fluctuating boost output (and they will either trip an fault code/emission light or turn Limp Mode on)...MAP sensor springs in mind ! Spend your money elsewere !

Hi , A boost gauge is probably worth fiiting if your going to modify the cars performance, there also quite good fun to watch, hard part is finding somewhere to put it and getting a hose from the engine bay to your dash. I machined a pod out of aluminium to replace one of my centre airvents i painted it black to match the dash as it looked a bit bling in ali, actually i made 2 im going to ebay the other. Anyway boost gauge , pointless on a standard car, good for setting up and monitoring any mods.:approve:

Thanks for the input lads
My car is standard at the moment but im definately gonna pay jabbasport a visit soon for my remap, probably leave it alone after that 200 bhp is enough for me:D
just wondering if the brakes will still be good enough after that though we'll see. ive read that you can go 50 bhp more on a stock setup but not sure if i should believe every thing i read, what do you think? im seriously considering the boost gauge can't help being a sucker for gadgets, makes it more fun for me.
Thanks again for the reply
