does a dog guard affect the air bags?

anybody know if a dog guard will interfere with the airbags in the back of a MK5 golf?

so what should i do? is it safe? I take my dog and baby round so i need teh dog guard.

well to what i have read, the guards block the airbag exploding correctly. i really have no clue which guards are good as vw them selves say that dog guards are no good for airbags to deploy correct.
