Hi, sorry to sound like a complete numpty - I'll say first I'm no mechanic, but...

I've had some problems with performance with my 2002 2.5TDi Quattro, so I bought a VAG-COM cable off ebay.

Got the software and cable working fine, and the diags say:

    00542 - Needle lift Sensor (G80)
    30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent

Done some research - it appears I need a new injector #3 with needle lift sensor fitting, or the wiring is dodgy.
Had a look under the plastic shield, but can't find the injector with above said Needle Lift Sensor - can anyone provide me with a picture and big numpty arrow pointing to the injector and cable on the B6 2.5 TDi engine??

    Thanks in advance...

Cheers mate, back left (I'm sure I looked there and couldn't see any wiring coming off, but will persevere...)

You will need to remove the rocker cover to access the injectors...

Hi, have removed plastic rocker cover, and examined all injectors but they all look absolutely identical - none have extra wires for the needle lift sensor!

Should the sensor wiring be visible on a 2002 A4 2.5 TDi engine (B6 8E model)???

Remove LH(driver side) rocker cover and is there. If you look closelly, there is a small wire on the side of the rocker cover going inside the head.
