Some kind person lobbed a brick throught the back screen of my Golf at 5.30 this morning. I am absolutely raging about this as the car is my pride and joy. It addition to the smashed window there is now a big dirty mark on the parcel shelf. its cost me £75 for the windscreen excess on my insurance and I'm currently waiting for Autoglass to come and replace the window.

What makes people do this? Jealously, sheer badness, attemped break-in? I am totally p1ssed off and it has ruined my day if not my whole week.

Oh no!!! Thats not good news! Who would be in their right mind, walking around with a brick at 5.30am! Haven't they heard of sleep! Some people have too much time on their hands! Did they affect the body work at all?

Pain in the *** - cut their hands off i say !!

Thankfully it doesn't sound like they marked any paintwork, although i'd check carefully (and the interior trim too)

Really sorry to hear this. I've had things done to previous cars so I know how it feels.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'd be so upset if that happened to my car which, at the moment I cherish (until it starts to play up, that is).
I only hope that with the new glass in, you'll eventually forget about the horrible incident perpetrated by cretins and low-life that share the world with us.

New glass now fitted. No damage to bodywork but there is a gouge out of the parcel shelf and a scuff mark on the plastic trim around the rear window. Don't know whether to replace the parcel shelf as the gouge is quite noticable - to me anyway

That sucks - my Passat was keyed from front to back a week after I got it However, the dealer got it sorted as it wasn't that deep and they were tidying a small dent anyway - no charge either

Sorry to hear that, I was a victim of vandalism on my car in the past so I know how you feel, in most cases it's caused by pure jealousy. Here are two further Mk6s being broken up on ebay, hopefully you may be able to source a parcel shelf from there.
