Bought a cable and using the shareware version, however only error code I have is
    00542 - Needle lift Sensor (G80)
But if I had the unlocked version would it pick up more fault codes? or what else would it tell me?

    TIA

409 v 805, no contest. Pay the £260 for a proper LEGAL cable and get regular updates and a tool only a few steps behind VAG’s own VAS 5052a which costs £6k.

Big thx for replies crasher, also found this on the ross site which explains the differences between shareware and licensed.

    http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vag-functions.html

Suppose what it means is that it will display all error codes but not give a detailed explanation with shareware, which gives me some relief that I dont have a car with a catalogue of issues.

Ilexa are a UK distributor and where I buy my cables from.

By the way, we don’t pay our taxes to the Queen; it goes to Gordon the Moron’s (our Prime Minister) government for them to waste on stupid things like bailing out banks that have been greedy.
