That sounds like something I don't want to happen. When i did it on my Civic, it was as easy as scotch-locking into the wire, but I appreciate these cars have a much more advanced electronics.

I've just had the dome light out and I've narrowed down the plug to the lighting, but would you know which colour wire is for the lighting? Or know how I could find out? I've attached a picture of said plug and wires. It's the middle plug with the blue wires.

    Thanks again!

So in theory, if I scotch-lock into that I should get power to my LED's? What would I put the black wire on my LED Strip to?

Sorry, I'm a bit of novice when it comes to electronics!

Black- you mean your light ground wire...if so....tap into brown one!

Can you dim your lights now via mmi(ambient or backround light option under car menu) or not, my previous question???

    That's great!

I don't have that option no. I don't think the car came with the 'interior light pack' so that option isn't enabled on there. Will that have an effect on what i want to do? I'm not bothered about having any control over the lights, I just want the footwell lights to mimic the interior light, if that makes sense.

No more questions or instructions...thats fine...just if you had that option, we(you) should tap wires a bit different way(as dimming wire is running to dome light also)...but it does not matter anymore:=).

    No problem, glad to help

Edit: I think my info was not 100% correct, as we taking supply before switch-you will have lights on all the time except if car is locked!

Why not tap into the fuse for interior lights then. Doesn't have to be a permanent live fuse you add onto. I went this route in my brother's car after using one to install my dash camera.

Yep good idea, but he wants lights work as interior ones(not on when driving etc), so "supply" should be taken after master switch i guess...
