    Hello,

I decided to get my Jetta 2.0t tfsi engine terracleaned. I had BOTH the normal terraclean and the turbo clean. Wow!

Engine is quieter, smoother and the mpg has been improved.

Mine is an 08 plate but with just 25k on the clock: it had done lots of short journeys and clearly had lots of carbon deposits inside.

I will update with how this continues but initial impressions are very good indeed!

    Cheers

Do you have before and after MPG figures?

Why do you say it 'clearly' had lots of carbon deposits? Did you see them as they were flushed away?

Yep. I used x ray vision to spot the carbon.

MPG? Same journey done to test.
Before 34.2 and after 36.7. These are averages of three journeys before and three journeys after.

Best outcome is the smoother drive.

I believe it made a good difference.

I wonder where all the carbon goo goes though? Every time I've cleaned an inlet manifold or valve ports it takes a good bit of elbow grease .

T'was a genuine question, thanks for your snarky reply.

As long as it feels better, that's all that matters

I think they change the oil after the clean so they must reckon it goes into the oil. If it all goes out the exhaust, it could cause problems for DPFs I suspect.

I was impressed with my little car being Terraclean'd and it seemed to be more willing to rev afterwards too as well as a hike in mpg from 17 to 20!
