I’m biting the bullet and spending the £250 asked by Sinclair Swansea to update my 3G+ system. Can anyone tell me what is the latest media system and nav version please? I’m guessing it’ll be 17/18 maps? This is what I have now. Thanks

I’m not sure about the nav version but the firmware hasn’t been updated. Firmware beginning with Pxxxx is the factory build and any updated versions begin with Kxxxx.
I think on the 3G+ it’s went beyond K0770 now as that was the version that supported phone sim along with the Sim in the dash.

That’s interesting. I have the SIM in the dash functionality even though the car is 2013

    Hi,

All 3G+ cars have a slot for a sim in the dash. What the 770 software update gives you is the ability to have both your phone connected via handsfree bluetooth and the dash sim online for data, at the same time. This gives you two signal strength indicators at the bottom of the screen - one for your phone and the other for the sim in the dash. Are you saying you can do this currently?

Ah - edit. Yes you can - I can see both at the bottom of the image you posted. Must be that you have the earliest factory version that allowed this. For cars that didn't, moving to 770 provides the option.

    Cheers!

    MF.

Yes. If you look closely at the photo you can see the 2 signal displays in the bottom right.

Why pay Sinclair to update it?
Can't you do it online using the software/maps update option in your MMI menu?

Only the facelift had that functionality. Pre facelift you had to buy the updates.

I updated to 770 on my 2011 car, it gave me the Bluetooth phone and data sim ability.
Not sure how/where to get the latest maps from though
