    Could be a delayed reaction though. Don't you have an extraction hose to lead the exhaust gases outside, that's not good for you especially with asthma (even with the doors open)

    Probably something to do with the size of the particles and how deep they go into your lungs.

    Thanks Crasher. I have checked my PR codes and see the following. I thought it has DPF. Am I reading it wrong?
    7GN = Emission standard, EU4, DPF preparation

    Are the new rules only for cars with DPF? Are there no changes for my car? Also I don't see any visible smoke from my car.

    Rules are for older cars too .

    All depends if your VIN plate manufacturers smoke coefficient number is lower than the default which for a non dpf Euro 4 is 1.50 .

    And your VIN plate figure is ?

    And what does it normally blow ?

    It means as it says but basically 7GN is a catalyst and 7GG is a DPF and the car can be retrofitted with a DPF using kit 4F0 298 096 X or 4F0 298 096 AX depending on which side of VIN wauzzz4F16N132001 it was built so cars BUILT (not registered) after 16/01/2006 which is roughly half way through the model years production but this is obsolete anyway so you would have to build your own kit up from these parts

    Kit kit was £1150 when it was available, that list adds up to more.

    Well, I just sold my 2006 A6 C6 Avant with the BPP 2.7 engine folks. Mainly because of the tougher rules on dash warning lights and the swirl flap fault that mine has had since I bought it.
    It was the best car I have ever owned. I bought it 8 years ago at 133K miles and sold it with 266K miles. It's had a new battery and a new air intake flap, some drop links, swirl flap links, bulbs discs, pads and tyres. Plus of course regular oil and filter changes. I really can't complain. Fuelly says that she did an average of 37.8 mpg as measured tank to tank over 100K miles.
    I bought it for £8000 at auction and sold it for £1000 cash. That's cheap and comfortable motoring, more eco-friendly than bringing 2 new lease cars into this world over this time period.
    I'd like to say thanks to everybody on this forum for willing advice and helpful videos / instructions.
    I'll get another Audi one day, for sure.
