    barometric pressure ( altitude ) sensor???. ive just carried out a diagnostic test on my 1.9 tdi passat because its been losing power intermitantly. it came up as a fault in the barometric pressure sensor. does anybody know where that is please.

    its locaded on the inlet manifold or a pipe off the manifold more commonly known as a map sensor (manifold appsolute pressure)

    Did you have a code with the fault because as far as I know the:

    Barometric Pressure Sensor (F96) is located in the Diesel Direct Fuel Injection Engine Control Module (J248).

    The sensor on the intake pipe to manifold is what is known as the Map Sensor and consists of two sensors built into one unit:

    1: Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor G71
    2:Intake Air Temperature Sensor G72
