Although I told my wife my Q7 would be with me for many years to come when I bought it alas its time to say goodbye.

I am struggling to find anything to criticise on the car, its power, handling comfort and running costs have all fell well within my expectations. In fact when someone buys her they will be getting a dream. However I could not convince my wife to sit in the driving seat.

I am going to take a young swede on as it offers me the best all round option. Having spent a bit on accessories I will be selling these and wonder if you bought items such as winter mats, roof bars etc where did you buy them from. I have my winter wheel set up on at the minute and that will be looking for a new home along with rear door blinds I ve thought of flearbay as I ve tried the selling section on the forum with little effect before.

One of my greatest regrets about selling the Q, along with loosing the car, is this is by far the best most supportive forum I have come across including the other German marques. I am sure Andy will keep pushing the envelope of his car to see how much he can get on it and freely share his experience, he is quite unique without taking anything else away from other members. I would like to thank everyone for their contributions which have added to the enjoyment of my Q and the unsung heroes who keep the forum running within the rules to ensure it retains a high level of integrity.

Was it the size / length that put her off? I have similar marital concerns to overcome - but I’m not selling :-)

To be fair its all in her head, as she knew the size before I got it. I am going to a V90 which is smaller, not by much but seems more so. I ve told her just to relax and the size won't e a problem.

I think it's bad change. The V90 is only marginally smaller, just a few cm, and in fact when you look at it and from my experience, drive it, it actually feels bigger than a Q7.

Boring, noisy 2 litre engine as well, nowhere near the same refinement.

If it helps, my wife really wasn't sure until she drove it a couple of times. Now loves it and says it doesn't feel hugely different to her old XC60. Here she is smiling as she heads out into the narrow snowy Peak District lanes, couldn't be happier.

Dave, sorry that it seems you may be moving on to another car... its all personal choice at the end of the day and I'm sure we all respect that regardless of our own opinions.

Your kind words are... very kind, so I thankyou and I'll endeavour to keep doing and sharing what I've done in the past and future...

    Wishing you all the best

Paul just to let you know I am not disappointed thus far and the build quality is up with Audi BMW and Mercedes. I can also get my bikes on the roof with less trouble than the stretching with the Q. Granted the power is not the same but all in all I am very happy.

Dave and Paul strangely only today I was thinking I’ve had the Q7 for just over 2yrs (well 2 yrs if you include time with rejected one) and was thinking ‘if’ I was to change what would I go for....

...realised it was immoral to think like that when (I also told the wife that this car is a 4-5yr car) and the car for me is superb (when it works, it takes some beating in my eyes)

Anyhow all the best across to the Swedish crew and do pop in to let us know how things are

Been to a couple of economist events over the last two months and lots of talk over ownership is becoming much less important but experience is the key. It was crazy how as a 52yo I fitted into the bracket.
I would not dream of buying a Q7 but to lease for 24 months with very little outlay appealed and it has worked. The £25k from the sale of my previous car has been working hard and contributed massively to the PCH. Would I have another hell yes but I need to try something else and a 24 month PCH on an R Design XC90 is just over £12k. Plus there is no doubt the Chinese millions is doing one hell of a job on Volvos R&D.

Good to hear you are liking the Swede Dave and cheers nemo worth a thought??

Exactly the same story here: have it since May and she probably drove it for not more than 10 miles. But she enjoys taking the backseat though (as the front sieged by daughter).
From my side, I don't like automatic car - I actually hate it, even on Q7 but I'm keeping
