I thought I'd pull one of my puddle light bulbs and replace it with LED.

Unclipped the housing and popped the bulb out using a plastic trim remover so I wouldn't short the circuit.

I thought I had a few of that LED type lying around but it turns out I don't so ordered a few from ebay. I decided to replace the standard bulb in the meantime.
    But it's now dead.
    Tried several bulbs.....none work.
    Tested bulbs using multimeter.....all work.
Tested voltage at contacts in bulb housing....looks like there's around 3v.

Tried closing the door and re-opening. locking up and unlocking. And even checked the driver side....it's working fine but passenger side is dead.

    Any thoughts?

Well wouldn't you know it....working now!
Must be some sort of delay on it. It wasn't working when I opened the door...but ignition on and it's working now.

At least I know I didn't blow a fuse or break the connector!

It needs to be dark outside and led bulbs needs to be fitted with the correct polarity as it's a circuit unlike halogen type bulbs that just needs power
Been thinking about getting these. Cheaper than the genuine audi ones

I decided to buy the original ones from Audi. Front and back, costs €200 so not cheap! But the LED light will match the rest of the LED lights inside of the car (down to colour and everything). Will get them tomorrow

I laughed then, I thought you said €200.

About £90 a pair from Audi. Had them priced a while ago but they said they will fit it if it was in for something else like a service. Choices were Audi rings or Quattro
This is why I looked for something else, mines already has led from factory it just doesn't have the logos

Seems to be cheaper here then at about €90-100 (dep on dealer) per pair. I got mine from loval dealer at €90 something per pair. Cant wait as it will match my Mustang's Pony logo at night.... on German Amazon there's a huge selection of motifs.
