Is it possible to buy the special tool needed for changing the gearbox oil in my Audi A4 cvt box?

As I understand it, the thread on the VW tool is different and therefore wont work

    Thanks in advance!

Check audizine, ive posted there few times alternative, where you fill oil from "outer filter". But you probably can buy oem tool(VAS5162) for that, something like this(probably aftermarket unit on picture-not sure):

The transmission fluid is filled from the drain hole.
The dealers use on of these.

I made my own with a adapter i bought on Ebay, clear hose and a bottle. which worked fine.

the fluid is gravity fed like this.

when you unscrew the drain plug you need to remove the breather pipe otherwise all the fluid won't drain out.

when you have filled the transmission with about 7-8 liters you need to run the car and cycle through the gears, monitor the transmission fluid temp with a VAG device. When the fluid reaches between 35-40 degrees you allow the excess fluid to spill out then replace the plug and your done.

this is difficult to do without a hoist.

Thanks Steve26... Appreciate all the detail given... did you buy the adaptor or did you make it using an inspection plug?

Also found this website www.mectronic.fi while searching for information to help with this issue... some great details on it!
