    Hi Guys,

First of all, let my introduce myself. I've recently purchased a Passat CC 2.0TSI, MY2011, but for my surprise it didn't included the footwell lights, it was an option called 'ambient lights' that required interior wood decoration that I didn't like at all.
I purchased the VagCom directly from Ross-Tech, and tested with the 10.6 and 11.2beta, which didn't included the labels for my Central Electronic module, which is the '3AA 937 087 A'. In the new version, the 11.3beta, it does, and I could activate it (is on byte 20, bit 0), but the problem I have now is that the sockets are different to the ones described in previous modules. It was supposed to be connected on the 'B' connector, but mine is completely different, and I don't know in which pin I have to use to power the lights. Here is a photo of how it looks like (with a blue square the 'B' connector):

On the top is the steering weel, and the botom the pedals.

And here is a photo of the 'B' connnector:

I have labeled with (1) and (2) the rows on the left and right, respectively.

Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry if this forum is not for this kind of questions.

Reset controller to no foot well lights. Power up and test the pins for 12v in the connector. Write down which are live.
Recode for footwell lights, Power up and test pins agian. The new live one is the one you want.
Can't help any more than that because newer model info is hard to get from VW and ross-tech are now encrypting their label files so I can't read them.

Thanks for the response. I tried this, but I couldn't find any difference in this 'B' connector. I even connected a cable to the empty places in the connector (it was three of them), but no change, so I think this connector is not the one that supplies the power to the footwell lights, and I'm scared of testing with the rest of them.

    Hi,

That's a BCM, not conventional (older) style of 09 module as the diagrams you have are showing. These pictures aren't really relevant, since this is my 2010 Gti, however you may find them useful if you aren't sure about how they come apart for wiring removal:

    http://s778.photobucket.com/albums/yy64/Dana_at_Ross-Tech/Wiring/?start=all

Take a look at T52B (The highlighted white connector in the picture) pin # 50. As per the US config. wiring diagram that should be T52b/50 and Dark Green/Blue wire (if one was present).

Next, W9 and W10 are the footwell lights and spliced from that single feed to each lamp.

Make sure this lead actually powers up as planned before completing the hard wiring in the vehicle, perhaps use a DVOM at first for power switching and then a test light for a load test.

After more digging ... I also see "Driver door ambient lighting bulb" and similar in the Comfort wiring diagram? They are marked "Only for vehicles with footwell lamp" like this is a total package and they are controlled by the BCM as well. Please post the Auto-Scan from this vehicle and the part numbers from the parts you purchased.

If you need the wiring diagrams I would suggest looking for ones after November 2010 production and erWin VW may be a good source for this new of a vehicle.

Thanks a lot for the response and the links to the pictures.

The appereance of that CECM is the same as mine. This weekend I was testing with a DVOM all the pins of the B connector, and I'm pretty sure the footwell pin is not there. I detected the one for the interior lights and others that where permanently on, others with 3V, etc., but there was no signal that behaves like the footwell light.
I also did another coding with the Vag-Com, so now I have active:
    - Byte12, but5: Footwell Lights with Terminal 58d active
    - Byte25, bit3: Footwell Lights inactive (LED Footwell Lights)
    - Byte 20, bit0, Footwell lights installed.

The 58d coding made the option of the footwell dimming appear in the MDF menu, which is fine.
So now what I have to find out is where is the terminal 58d in this CECM.

I purchased the Led footwell lights, and these are the part numbers:
    - 4E0 947 415 (LED light, Passat CC)
    - 4B0 971 832 (connector, Passat CC)
    - 000 979 009 E (wire for connector, Passat CC)

And here you have a autoscan (generated with version 11.2, so you'll see there is no label file for the 09 module):

I have the same issue. Installed the footwell light kit on this 2011 Passat thinking that it was the same as the older Passat CC but when it came to the Connector B #pin7 connection, was surprised with the similar Golf6 White/Black/Curry connectors layout.

Left the power pin wire aside and waiting patiently for the result of this thread on how to hook up the connection !

    Hello,

I need to look at the part # and wiring some more, but did this module set fault codes when Byte 20, Bit 0 was enabled for the missing lights?

Also, and sorry for the dumb question, does this car have door ambient lighting bulbs in all (or the front) doors as the US wiring diagrams show as a footwell lighting package? It sounds like you do not, but I just want to be clear and understand. I may have time to see a 2011 CC this weekend, but I'm not sure about the equipment level.

That's a BCM, not conventional (older) style of 09 module as the diagrams you have are showing. These pictures aren't really relevant, since this is my 2010 Gti, however you may find them useful if you aren't sure about how they come apart for wiring removal:

Take a look at T52B (The highlighted white connector in the picture) pin # 50. As per the US config. wiring diagram that should be T52b/50 and Dark Green/Blue wire (if one was present).

Next, W9 and W10 are the footwell lights and spliced from that single feed to each lamp.

Make sure this lead actually powers up as planned before completing the hard wiring in the vehicle, perhaps use a DVOM at first for power switching and then a test light for a load test.
I looked and looked but I could not find a T52B picture on your thread Photobucket thread at http://s778.photobucket.com/albums/yy64/Dana_at_Ross-Tech/Wiring/?start=all

Did you remove the picture ?

No, it doen't have the lights in any door. I guess it's part of that package. And I did't get any error activating the bits. I checked that they where still active connecting again the vag-com, and there is a new option in the lights submenu to adjust the dimming f the footwell lights, so I think it is active and available in my CECM.

I also tried to get the electrical schemas of the CECM in the web you sent me, but they were all in german. Do you know another similar web in english?

    Thanks again for your response,
