Help, Audi A3 Speaker Problems
Hi everyone,
I've just bought a lovely A3 1.8T Sport, my first Audi and so far love it. Today I've bought a new Alpine Head unit, works fine bar the rear speakers not working, I've tried finding the rear speakers cables so then I can just join up the cables from the alpine but can I find them?? NO!! Any ideas? I'm sure this has probably been covered before.
Many thanks.
Russell

Re: Help, Audi A3 Speaker Problems
Thanks Delwyn,
I've only just noticed that it has a sub hidden in the boot also but me being me decided to run new cables to the rear speakers directly to the new ALpine head unit. Doesn't sound that great to be honest, no bass at all, I'm wondering if the speakers are in phase or if they are I may need to re-wire them and buy the adapter.

Re: Help, Audi A3 Speaker Problems
Hi there, you need to get teh correct iso cable to connect the head unit and also a muter to send a muted signal to the amp for it to then spread the sound around the car. I did this to my 2000 plate a3 and found teh amp was blown so bought a new one. hope thsi helps

Re: Help, Audi A3 Speaker Problems
I've got a friend who is having the same issue with the rear speakers not working on a 2000 a3.
I've seen on the net they do two types of cable one for the bose and one for the normal system.
How do I tell which version of the stereo it is?

Re: Help, Audi A3 Speaker Problems
if your car manual that is in the glovebox is all in tact there should be a pamphlet about it if it is the bose one other than that you will have to take the head unit out and check to see if it has rca cables if it does then its the bose one
as far as the person with the sub problem the speakers in the rear are crossovered to only let out mid and treble whilst leaving the sub to the bass did you remove the crossovers when wiring i in - why did you replace it with an alpine one the bose setup you had was far ahead of anything alpine ever made how many recording studios do you know that use alpine stuff compaired to bose
