ive just had my 130 tdi remapped and to be honest i dont think theres a great deal of difference there more boost from the turbo when i boot it in 2nd theres more noise from the turbo and i can also see a puff of black smoke in the mirror when the turbos on boost witch i dont like the look of

how should a remapped tdi performe?

in fact having thinking of putting it back stanaderd is this now possible?
the power delivery seemed smother before it was remapped in fact i wish i hadent had it done now

have i been cond or something? the guy that did it just unpluged the ecu from the car and pluged it into his lap top.
he seemed to know what he was doing and was recomended by somone i know but the whole think thing was done in about half hour

is it possible that it has been remapped before?

it is possible to put a standard map back on, and i think im right in saying that a decent tuner would have downloaded your old map just in case you were not happy with the new one.

if they did download it, they should refund you and put the old map back on.

dont think its been mapped before its a 1 company owner car.
just been for anther quick spin it seems to me like the turbo is coming in sooner and harder but theres no difference in torque and i still have a flat spot below 1200 revs in 1st before the turbo kicks in.

ive read and heard that buy having a car mapped you should get better mpg but at the moment the turbo seems to be in for longer using for fuel i would have though?

what i need is some imfo from other 130 drivers that have had there cars mapped.

but any imfo would be good.

one last thing if the tuner that mapped it dident down load the old map wheres that leave me

they should be able to get hold of a "standard" map to put on it.

    Check out https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ight=chip+spin

Sounds like your car may have a fault, or the remap wasn't very good.
Have you run VAG COM and checked live data on a road test?

Sounds like either a fault with the car, a bad map or not mapped at all. I have seen some very poor maps on the TDI's before so it is possible i'm afraid.

Why not take it to a rolling road and have it checked out (maha, dyno dynamics or similar braked dyno)

I'm having my 2004 TDI 130 re-mapped by 'Angel' this Friday, l'll let you know what happens.
I've heard 'Angel' give a top spec service....so here goes....I've asked not to compromise the longivity of the running gear, so they suggest 130bhp to 170bhp power increase and 230lbf to 295lbf torque increase. They do offer more increse, but dropping it slightly seems safer

ive driven a friends 130 se passat today and there's definitely a fair bit of difference.
ive also had a go in my mate golf gti tdi 150 bhp even although there's a lot more noticeable difference in the way the turbo pull on my car, the gold has a much better smother power delivery and it pulls away from my passat to from a standard start.
i was expecting the same sort of power delivery after a re map there's bags of torque in the 150 golf
