    Default What's "normal" battery voltage?? – 02-05-2010,02:06 PM
    Hi All. I bought a Bosch Silver battery the other week and was expecting that once charged, it would show a voltage reading of something approaching 13.8v. (I have been paying a lot of attention to this lately as my car had a battery drain problem and I'm not 100% sure that it's fixed yet) It typically shows @ 12.7 and has showed as low as 12.5, (this is on a good digital meter, not the dashboard gauge!) Anyway it still thrashes the engine over, no probs so I am not particularly bothered, since I have my 5 year guarantee! It would be handy to know what a healthy battery should be showing after it's been left overnight???

    any where between 12.10 and 1270 is fine when left as long as dont drop below 11.90 should be fine just make sure alternator is charging over 13.70 anything below is not that good really
