How many miles to a tank???

Hey just wondering how many miles everyone gets out a tank from full? Particulary GT TDI 140bhp versions. Please put down what type of driving your doing!, ie mostly motorway, town etc!

once i got nearly 700 but that was driving like grandma, coasting down hills and no more than 57 mph.

i achieved this on a journey between coventry and lichfield using A444, M6, M42, A446, A38

i have since changed job and work 11 miles away and use the B4098 Coventry to kingsbury. Not getting much more than 400 - 450 due to it being a very twisty road and still enjoying the power of the remap.

I have the same model as you and get about 550 to a tank if i am careful. I do this on motorway jouneys but still enjoying the power of the new car!

I have a 2.0 TDI GT Sport 140 and get 500-550 depending on how heavy the traffic is on the way to and from work. This is made up of Town, A roads and motorway driving. I average approx 46mpg to a tank full.

Yeh, I'd agree with you and i have exactly the same spec, even down to the colour!

I have the GT TDI Sport, which has 225 tyres, thus slightly poorer economy than the standard model, but still manage 46mpg / 500 miles per tank on mostly motorway driving.

I am new to my Golf but was hoping for a bit better fuel consumption than you guys are getting.

My other cars are a Fiate Grande Punto sporting which gets 55 mpg from a 1.9 Diesel and I get 65-70 from a diesel Clio, all motorway use travelling 65-75 on a 100 mile round trip.

I was hoping for 60 mpg+

I get between 450 and 550 on a tank on a mixture of Lanes, A roads, and stop start motorway.

Hey,

I have the 2.0GTTDi and I use it for a 100 mile round trip each day, 70 miles dual carriageway and the rest through town and on twisty back roads and I can average 50mpg easily!

You have to remember the Golf is a much bigger car than the Punto or Clio!! And would the Clio not be a 1.5DCi?? Much more economical, but by no means as much fun
