    Hi All,
I car has recently had a timing belt change done, driving home all seemed fine until I got onto the dual carriage way and increased my revs and speed, at about 3500 rpm I lost all power, the car had cut out, but would restart no problem, I did ‘not want to drive the car, so called the garage, they were really good and came out to me within 10 minutes to try and sort the problem, but to no avail, eventually they drove it back to the garage, even just driving normally and at low speeds and not revving hard it would still intermitently cut out, but would restart when they checked the car on diagnostics, the fault log “Camshaft sensor alignment” appeared, the car has been left with the garage for them to investigate further.
My question is, would this happen if the timing belt had maybe jumped a notch, even though seems to start okay, and ran normal for a good 3 to 5 miles before cutting out ?, plus I’ve had no problems up until now, surely a camshaft sensor should last more than 50k, or is the timing out ?
    2006 – 2.0 TDI Sport Estate (140)
    Any info much appreciated

Could well be a problem with the timing, If they did the work then get them to sort it!
