key fob problem

Hello all,

I have a weird problem with my key fob. I cannot unlock the car using the keyfob. The fob still locks the car and operates the tailgate but refuses to do anything when the unlock button is pressed. I can unlock the car with the key, start the engine and drive normally.

Also the red light on the key fob does not flash when I press the key, however as the key fob locks the car I am assuming that the battery is working.


Can anyone help? (it is the 3 square button type key fob)

It's obviously transmitting OK if you can lock the car, so it must be the little 'unlock' microswitch on the circuitboard that has bust. Try Ebay for a replacement as they are easy to reprogram when you have another.

Try to get the same part no. and frequency as the existing key, if different, it probably won't work
