The Fan speed controller has slowly died on my Polo it now only works at full speed (Setting 4) I managed to dismantle the front on the panel whilst it was fitted in the car and clean up the switch contacts but it still doesnt work so i bought a new panel but i cannot remove the old panel i have no idea how to get to the cables at the back etc and disconnect it

Has anyone attempted this or could help in the removal and refit of this unit it would be much appreciated.

    The Panel serial is 6Q0 820 045 E

    Thanks!!

Iam inclined to think the fault is with the fan pre-resistance unit and not the switch
