Hi i wanted to know if anybody can help me.

car in question VW polo 6N1998 Apq engine

i have to remove the ignition coil as the HT lead is broken into it.

can i ask if anybody knows how to remove it?

there is two screw on the side but i am unsure if it screws directly in the body ot there is any nuts at the back.

another question how do you disconnect the plug with the cables.

    Hi

I have '97 Polo, 1.6 cl, AEE engine so i'm unsure if the same layout (although one would think it isn't far off). But my ignition coil blew out on me a few weeks ago. Easily enough replaced.

You need to take off the black plastic covering by the wipers, this gives you access to the nuts which are at the back. It can be a bit fiddly, think they were 10mm nuts. Shouldn;t take too long though.
In the dark (some street lighting) with little experience or knowledge it took me 20 mins to take off and replace the ignition coil.

    .
Hope this is also the case for you.
