    Hi everyone,
A few months ago the rear drivers side door stopped unlocking when either using the remote or the key. Also when trying to use the internal handle, the stump rises but the resistance is too stuff and the stump goes back down when releasing the internal handle.
Sometimes (1 out of every 30) it will unlock and lock along with the central locking.
I'm getting the confidence together :-D to have a look at the door, but wondered if anyone knew what it's most likely to be so I could get the part?

I should also add that the electric window also fails to operate on that door.

    Thanks,
    Matt

i am not to sure it is, cause both back doors can be dead locked and some times only the front passenger door is the only one that opens with central locking and open drivers door with key or they all stay locked, is it possible to take the deadlock off the back door by computer??

No that is not possible.I thought it was only the one door was dead locked. Can you get a fault code read. There is a possibilty there is a fault with the wiring to the control unit.

one backdoor is deadlocked and has been for like 4months now lol the other back door does deadlock now and then, it has it moments, was on for a week last week then it went off and can open it from inside, its very stange, the front two open 90% of the time by central locking by fob, but if they dont, the key opens them, but will get it on the computer one day, just fed up with it and cant be bothered spending anymore money on it as its just a headache

I would think then, you have 2 faulty rear door locks.Sooner or later the 1 you can open from the inside will deadlock.

just seen something else and thought i would ask, recon it could be the convenience unit causing the problems?? also when i lock it, the hazzards lights do not flash but do when being opened, is the central control unit the same thing as the convenience unit??

A diagnostic scan will tell you everything. It is called the central control unit for the convenience system CCU.It is situated behind the dash panel, might be worth having a look at it,to see if you see any signs of water
