I have an Audi 1.9 TDi SE

I seem to have an intermittent problem with my Windscreen AC vent.

Every now and then the vent doesn't blow any air out. It's making all the right noises but no air escapes. It seems as though it's blocked.

Any (DIY) help would be appreciated.

My 2002 a4 had same problem this week. I took motor out & opened flap manually as a quick fix for now. It's not blocked, the motor isn't opening the flap. I think my motor is ok, it just isn't getting a live feed so it may be a switch problem

More likely to be a problem with the pot in the motor unit. You can check the operation of the motor by applying 12 V across pins 5 and 6. To eliminate a wiring or control unit problem, plug the motor unit in place of one of the motors that does work ok.

    Hi Xenon
I'd already tried the motor with another motors wiring plug & it was ok , that's why i suspect the switch or wiring

Sounds like it could be a control unit problem. I would advise to get the car scanned for fault codes - might throw up the problem there.
