    Golf GTi 05 Flat Battery

Is anyone else having problems with battery drains on their gti?

I recently changed my battery thinking that it might be dead, but the new one is going flat too.

I checked and found that the glovebox light wasnt switching off, so i disconnected that. Everything seemed ok for a couple of days, but noticed that the rear brake lights were coming on when no-one was in the car.

I looked this problem up on the internet and apparently a lot of Gti's had faulty brake light switches and VW did a recall on it.

Anyway, today my car was completely dead, no electrical charge whatsoever, is anyone else out there having the same problems with their veedub?

Re: Golf GTi 05 Flat Battery

Hi, I had a problem a few weeks ago. I calle VW assist out and it turned out to be the CD player. I was faulty and wouldn't eject CD's. When the ignition was off it was still drawing current from the battery. Probably not related to your problem but you never know!
