    Can anyone help me which Xenon HID bulb goes in Dipped headlight there seems to be five differnet bulbs, is it D1R,D1S,D2R,D2S or does it matter .

    I got a 2005 Passat highline by the way

    d2s - open the bonnet it will say on top of lamp.
    Audi A8 - 2015 - 3.0TDI

    It is more likely the ballast is faulty.

    Thanks for the reply`s I have to double check that they are D2S When the weather is better, I want to upgrade them. Do you really have to remove the headlamp to get to the bulbs or is there a easyway to get them out with out removing the bumper etc like it say`s in the haynes manual.

    No you do not have to remove the bumper etc. There are a couple of plastic trim covers under the bonnet you need to remove. It is tight but do-able for the dipped headlights. Main beam is a little harder if not impossible to get to though.
    One German, Two Italian.
    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though
