I have a 2004 Touran and the ESP lwarnng light shows permanently on the instrument panel. Recent diagnosis by VW dealer advises new ABS sender required; estimated cost £1500, yes £1500, including VAT and fitting (3.7 hrs), can anyone offer advice and help?

Well, it is true that when there is a problem in the ABS system then the ESP light is illuminated. They could be right, but if you could get a VAG-COM fault code read done to tell us what the problem is then that would be very helpful.

It won’t be a sender but as Paul says, get the fault code number.

My S3 had the ESP on all the time....well.....it was on all the time intermittently...so I took it to my boys (VAGTech) and it was a front pressure sensor...think they charged me less that £100...I was having all the brakes replaced at the same time, so the price was all a part of the bigger job.

But whatever it is, so pratting around with a dealer and get yourself a specialist!

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the interest you have shown in my problem. The only information I can get so far from the VW dealership is that the diagnosis came up as 0201 Sender ABS Control Unit

    Hi guys,

Can anyone let me know how to contact VW specilaists in my area? I don't seem to be able to find a decent website that does this.
