hi there changed the belt on my t4 very simple job,
just undo two bolts on alternator ,move inwards lift of belt from power steering pulley and alternator pulley, put new belt on and retension belt job done.

ps if you have aircon you will have to remove that belt as well.
my engine is 2.4d but guess its the same.
The weather today will be hot and sunny. At casa naranja guest house this is true on average 320 days a year!!!

Found it, Split the pulley, three bolts undo there are i found brass spacers inside, some of which I removed to ensure a tight belt when they were done up.
it worked, belt home, no squeaking even under load. hope it helps.
