    hello guys.
I bought a in car tv ariel from ebay and got it today. Apart from the 3.5mm jack, it has a small black and red cable for the 12v dc amplifier. Just wanted to know what i connect this cable in to. Is it the red and black from the stereo or am i thinking wrong.

i would imagine one is ground and the other is a switched live.

    could be wrong though.

where and how do you plan to mount it?

already mounted it. Identical to your sat nav how to guide. Brought the cable up through the dash and amplifier hides down the front of the window. What would happen if i assumed that the black was ground and red was switch live and just connected to the same of stereo?

Earth and switched live sounds right to me. You could wire these to the rear of the head unit - the wires wont be the same colour though! Or depending where you want to mount it there may be more suitable places to wire it into.
