Hi all i am new to VWAUDI forum, hello everyone.

I have a VW golf gt tdi 1.9 130 bhp, and ive noticed i am getting poor mileage out of a full tank roughly around 300-350 local driving. I am not driving around like a boy racer!!!!

The car has done 35000k and has been recently been serviced

any help or advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks

first of all, i would re-ask the question above... what MPG is displaying on your trip for these 300 miles?

also, what sort of journeys are you doing?

if you tend to do a lot of short, stop start journeys, with the engine never warming up, your MPG will plummet, which will affect your total mileage from your tank.

when was the car last serviced and are you noticing any 'running' issues when driving the car?

MPG varies it never really goes above 35 local driving majority of the time its around the 30 mark.

My journies are short, but i recently took my car to edinburgh from sheffield and MPG were 45-50 and out of a full tank i got under 500miles.

The car was serviced 2 months ago and ive not noticed any running issues.

Should I contact VW dealer for them to possibly diganose any problem?

30/35 mpg around town sounds about right to me, if im doing a long m.way run, i'll average around 250/300 miles to half a tank, so you're about right there, considering mine is the 115 too.....

sorry but i'm going to have to disagree. no way are you getting 50mpg around town, in stop start traffic. it's not possible. you'll get around 50/60mpg on the m.way driving properly, but around town, you'd be lucky to see 40mpg.

this topic rears its head every couple of weeks, i really wouldn't be too concerned, your mpg sounds about right to me.

Sorry Carl, i'm gonna have to disagree..... (although mine is remapped)

Around town i get 50mpg +-2 mpg, and then on the motorway i get 60 as an average, and i'm no snail
