I have an Audi A6 2.0 TDi (Jan 2005) 17k miles. After about three months of owning it, it developed what I call a 'juddering' clutch. Intermittently, when pulling away in 1st gear, the clutch judders - and no matter how you adjust the revs, or how slowly or quickly you release the clutch, it still happens. I have been driving for 28 years, so I don't think it is me!

Sometimes it is worse than other times - sometimes it will make the car stall, other times it just makes for a very jerky pull away.

Also, general gear changes at all speeds seem very jerky - as though the clutch isn't releasing smoothly - sort of 'catching'.

It is also intermittent - with no obvious pattern as to when it does or doesn't happen.

The first time it went to the dealers, they said that they had updated the software , which seemed to cure it for about a month, but then it came back. Since then it has been back to the delears twice, and they say they cannot find a problem.

Is anyone else out there seeing the same problem, or have any ideas?

I Have The Same Problem With My 2005 2.7tdi A6. Now On 3rd Clutch Each One Average 10k Miles.

I Know It's Not Me As The Last One Had A New Clutch At 140k!

We Have Audi Specialists From Germany Over To Sort It Out, And Yet Now At 30k Miles The Clutch Has Gone Again. Most Common In Wet Or Damp Conditions, You Get A Judder. Dry Conditions It Is Fine.
