Just bought a Sharan TDI 90bhp 97 P reg with 100K on the clock.
Water is leaking into the front passenger footwell. The air filter on the bulk head behind the battery is uncovered and soaking wet.
Is this filter meant to be uncovered ?
It looks like a pig of a job to change this filter.
As anyone got any good suggestions ?
P.S. The air conditioning has recently been refilled - could it be this ?
    Basil

Yes, it is a pig of a job. I released the wiper mechanism and slid the new filter in behind the wiper mechanism. Also removed the passenger side front wheel and inner wheel arch cover to clear the clogged up drain hole that caused the problem. The plastic cover that holds the expansion tank has broken so I'll have to make a new bracket.
