    The EGR still looks really shiny (bought the car in 2012) so that could have been new, I can't tell if the N75 was changed, but they said that was what the problem was. They didn't charge me as it was having problems not long after driving it away having bought it. I'll have a look at how tricky driving it without the MAF is. Funnily enough when I have not long pulled over fueled up, and then if I boot it it is hesitant and will go into limp mode if I continue booting it. But other than that and when it's cold, it seems to be behaving itself.

    As I say, I'm clutching at straws with the MAF thing but anyway, it goes like this:
    Disconnect it, If whilst driving it, there is no difference or its the same, change the MAF (proper ones are expensive)
    If on the other hand it now drives like a total dog- you'll have virtually no boost it feels like, then its not the MAF.
    (Starting it with it disconnected will throw a code.)

    Sounds easy enough I'll have time to do this on Thursday, and see what the results are. Good luck with yours in the mean time

    Clean the turbo is the first thing replace vacuum lines on the way. Also clean intake manifold egr intake hoses maf sensor and map sensor with electric friendly cleaner. Thats will do job without further questions.

    Thank you for the pointers, pretty much out of my skill/tool range, so could well buy reconditioned turbo, get garage to do rest.

    Air intake off and see the carbon build up happened to me I was in your situation about 2 month ago also egr delete if you haven't already 👍
