First of all thanks to Stuart for helping me join hit a few snags on the way but he was very helpful so if that's anything to go by im in good hands.
Ive got a 05 reg b5.5 tdi 130 with 238.000 on the clock it's been well looked after,I let the missus borrow the car a few weeks back (for my sins) and it came back with a big hissing noise on acceleration and I feel a slight lapts in power with a puff of black smoke it's getting worse which let me to boost pressure on a Google search I've checked the pipes for splits and holes but found none any help on my problem would be appreciated

welcome. i think you are up the right path with a boost leak, but you need to look harder to find it. could be any pipe or join, or even the intercooler, from the turbo to the inlet manifold. feel all the hoses for one thats feels squidgy or just different from the others.

Thanks for that Ive noticed the inter cooler pipe going into the egr doesn't look like it is being kept in the hole very good even with the clip in place but thought with the rubber seal will keep it sealed I've watched a few vidoes and all there's seem a snug fit and a lot harder to pull out than mine as they move quite freely I suppose I should try and replace them start with the cheapest I suppose

you were right mate with further inspections it turned out it was the s bend coming of the bottom of the turbo with a massive split thinking it's going to be a cheap fix but vw charged me £118 for the privilege thanks again for that
