    Some people wouldn't spend Christmas. A crook selling a car will want to maximise his profit. I don't recall a curled brake pipe on a golf. If it's a total bodge up new pipe is cheap as chips.

    You seem to have a reasonable grasp of spannering so if that's the problem with your car you can make new pipes easily and cheaply. Roll of copper pipe which would be enough for one car costs 15 quid, tenner for a cheap flaring kit and a few pence for nuts. If you decide to DIY buy a pipe cutter cost about 3.00. Job done for 30 quid or so.

    thanks to all that have replied the pipe was joined and split over the two rear brakes I removed the curly pipe and brass union (three way) ive now ordered rear brake pipe and hose re-joined the brake pipe to its proper place passenger back brake calliper the other pipe in pic 1 and 4 is for drivers side brake only figured it out after looking for hours on net for pic but from the pic it did become apparent what had been done thanks again now once again my search for the untraceable obd port begins a fresh golf-mk5-580[1].png
