Oh dear....here we go again!

Hi everyone,

So about 27K ago I had my gearbox replaced as the dreaded rivet issue punched a number of holes in my gearbox casing. Spent approx £1300 having a new recon box and clutch put into the car, happy days.

At the weekend my lower engine/torque arm mount snapped (or the bolt fell out or something) the shock of the acceleration cracked the bottom of the gearbox casing.... brilliant.

Although no gearbox oil can be seen leaking I'm wondering if this can be welded up - pro's and cons of such a repair, and would it hold up properly or can just the casing be replaced?

Alternatively anyone know where I could source a second hand or recon box and have a friend fit it instead of going through a transmission specialist again?

I have also read about putting an 02S box into the car instead, forgive my lack of mechanics but is this practically "plug and play" or is there further work required?

Just trying to work the cheapest method without comprimising a shoddy fix if you understand
