Hi All,i have a 2002 passat b5.5. i have got the little cable that goes between the front outer passenger side handle and the lock.Have had conflicting ways on how to change this as it has nipped. Can it be replaced from the outside part of the handle or do i have to remove inner panel with window motor etc? either way it looks footery and awkward.going to give it a lash tonight,so any feedback would be much appreciated

thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hello Jacko.

I'm sure someone has probably managed to replace that little cable without stripping the door but it would probably be quicker/less frustrating just to remove the window regulator panel, lock assembly, etc. Imagine if you had spent the best part of an hour trying key hole surgery then dropped your new cable inside the door and ended up having to strip it all anyway.

    Jim.

update.have the handle off and the locking cyclinder part out,got the old nipped cable and the bit that hooks ont te lever off.Does anyone know of a gizmo for reattaching the new cable onto the lever? seems like it has to go on a certain way then twist to lock in.Long nose pliers and patience?
