    Hi,
    Audi A6 / 2007-8.
The MMI system is 2G (mono), with Navi and 6 disk changer.
In order to prepare for a retrofit of a Visseo MOSTO Bluetooth, a software upgrade was performed, as it was showing C6StdNavi_0410 which was too low.
    The SW Update was S1-C6-EU-K310.

Now, the system restarts every 5 mins (almost exactly 5 mins), and the Sat Nav no longer functions at all, nor will it read any disk. The reported error appears to be an application upgrade problem.
CD and radio are fine (apart from rebooting every 5 mins, and dont' always come back on the same station/channel etc)

It think this looks like the Navi unit is basically not booting.
I believe that in this system, the Navi unit is the master, as isolating it (MOST bypass cable), causes nothing to boot.
There was nothing wrong with the Navi unit prior to attempted upgrade.

I'm struggling to find a expert afermarket Audi MMI speclialist, so hoping someone can help.
I can provide error screens/logs/ F/W versions if necessary, and have Can-HEX cable and VCDS 12.10
From memory, the recorded error in the InterfaceBox Error screen is SVM_Syncro

    (PS Viseeo-MOSTO not fitted yet),

thanks for any help, or recommendations.

Did you have the car running when it was being updated?

Yes - the car was running as it upgraded.

Some more details : upgrade disk was 4L0998961 (1 of 3)
I've done some digging around the SWUPgrade logs, and it looks like gateway is showing the error, despite the fact that it seems to work perfectly (for 5 mins and it's the Sat Nav that won't initialise or read disks. It reports a problem on the SPN - does anyone know what that is:
See below for the logs walkthrough I captured (the final file won't attached and shows download error 0xffff)

    Hi,

SO yes - I think it looks like a failed upgrade - but I cannot force it again, as the Navi unit will not read any disks at all.

On the topic of the correct disks, I spend an age following dozens of threads, and it is really confusing to find the right versions/types, because of all the combinations. However, I believe that disk 1 of this set does contain the Basic Plus update (I checked the meta file).
Either way, I would have expected it only to attempt an upgrade of the applicable binary to the correct target module - thats surely the purpose of the meta file.

So - given it's clearly in a confused state, how does one update a unit, other than with the Navi unit. It seems unbelievable to me that a module cannot be programmed either off the car, or via CANbus, or other diag port - and such a process should be quick, easy and cheap (I am software engineer, by profession, working on embedded hardware systems, so i design this kind of thing - The modules must be reflashable).

Or is this something that Audi keep to themselves for revenue reasons? I've looked at the costs of 2G/3G upgrades etc, and replacement modules; This stuff is not exactly high cost equipment, and should be a few tens of pounds, but it stretches to thousands, because of the market, otherwise I'd upgrade the whole lot to 3G.

But surely someone knows, and has the capability, to reflash the modules for a reasonable cost?

Any other thoughts on how I get this working again?
