Like you I bought an E61 535d, it was a fully loaded M Sport and loved it!! I did look at an M5 at the time but it was out of my price range. 2nd time round I decided i must get an M5 and found a stunning M5 factory Hartage edition. But I again faltered and followed the wife's desire for a 4x4 and got a X5 35d......

So please for the love of the weeman, buy what your heart desires......

Here's my twist for you.....would the opportunity to buy a C6 RS6 5.0 V10 twin turbo......be more appealing??? That's one engine you will never get again

There's a lot of these about at good prices considering how much car you're getting. It might be something to look at. My feeling is that it's turning in to an old car now though and they've all got some miles on and you know been driven pretty hard. Might be worth a bit of tyre kicking at least.

Yes it's the older shape but the C6 fit and finish is peerless.. I have two mates with C6 sline avants. Compared to my C7 sline avant they don't look old and if anything I think the finish is more robust, our centre console is already a dinged mess.

The RS6 in my opinion is a hero car, a head turner and a real cult classic. The new S6 and BiTDI are stunning versions of the C7 avant but more wolfs in normal clothing (bar a few badges). I debadge my 535d as that is my thing so I can understand if that's your objective.

I'm already considering the A6s replacement (18months away) and if it were now with a healthy budget a C6 RS6 would be on the list.

Zx10 Red Line Pegged to the max, gets passed @ 186mph like it was standing still... INSANE!

watching this just shows how brutal an s6, or rs6 , whatever it is, can be.

I dont believe that is a standard RS6, but an MTM tuned, and the bike has top speed issues, could do with another gear. But still, its quick. More than quick enough.

True, but its not comparing apples with apples. That estate car has been tuned to in excess of 700bhp apparently. Who knows what else its had done in terms of weight saving. An RS6 is quick, very quick, but in standard guise its not as quick as the car in that video by some way.

Is it specified which car it is being followed? Looks like it could be and RS6 but otherwise God knows.

    Edit: Removed some crap.

Its been posted a few times in the last couple of years on youtube. Video where the car overtakes the bike is here:
Looks like a C6 RS6, and the bike appears limited to 300kmh, whereas the Audi is clearly not.
