The whole point of that car is the engine, why fixate on the toys?

If you do have a look please let me know. I'm pretty happy with that spec although would like the panoramic sunroof and bose... To be truthful the sunroof I can live without but the speakers i could get someone to fit uprated parts. It's done a few miles in it's short life and certainly over priced at £40k but otherwise it's pretty nice. Any feedback much appreciated.

If that's still available in a week when I'm free to take a look it ticks the boxes.

Just my humble opinion, but I would beg borrow or steal the extra £5k to get a brand new facelift version over that private purchase. Even if they were identical versions I would go for the new one. I would also have a new BiTDI with some options over any used S6 circa £40k. That’s just me though

If that's not an option then a private seller will value the options they paid a fortune for a lot more than a dealer. If you look at the Parkers valuation below it seems they are adding over 5k for the options. It might seem fair to the seller, but apart from getting a quicker sale I think you’ll be lucky to get back 10/20% of whatever options you add to a new car. Even with the toys £41k seems too much for a 14000 mile 2013 63 plate private sale.

Maybe I’m too cautious, but I wouldn’t risk £40k on a private sale either. For all you know the warranty is invalid due to a modification the owner has done so it would also mean some extra costs… maybe an inspection and history check buy Audi?

This is an incredibly valid point. If any car has been chipped or modified previously, then it may have picked up a TD1 code along the way, which means manufacturer warranty wont exist.

Not entirely a fait accompli, and I speak from experience, although with a different marquee. My 535d was mapped (DMS) and it was in for a vast amount of warranty work with BMW including an I-drive rebuild and reprogram and they never mentioned it. Audi Glasgow are happy for cars to mapped but if bought from them they would prefer they were done on site. They even off it as a service (maybe s bit more underdesk). Even Arnold Clark VW said they would not care if it was mapped.... Only if the tuner had fried the cars Brain...

I'm still considering DTUK rather than Revo at this point though for my GTD as its a lease car. If it were personal, wouldn't give s hoot.

So I wouldn't disregard it out of hand without asking the question. Chet it to s local dealership for s full check as part of the purchase agreement.

Thanks very much for the offer, but no worry unless you're there anyway, it was more a curiosity than anything else due to the rarity of the model.

Drivethedeal.com are quoting £39k on a BiTDI with my options and £48k for a S6 so it does put these AutoTrader prices in to perspective.

Totally agree - you've got to really know what you're doing if buying private and you're still taking on some risk.

Got adaptive cruise on the Golf GTD, ******* amazing, I literally drive all the way to work in rush hour and apart from a few set of traffic lights, didn't touch the brakes or accelerator. I did the first time set the cruise to 75mph and the closest car setting, was the surprised when I hit s clear 30mph street and it shot off, whoops!!!! It even did an emergency stop when a car cut me up... Granted the gap it leaves is slightly generous for slow traffic.

Yeah, it really is great! I first had it on a Volvo hire car when abroad, so then knew I had to choose it when I specced the new build Lexus I had before the Audi. I'm sure that regular cruise control was good back when the roads were quieter, but these days they're just too busy to be able to set and leave it on.

Unfortunately my A6 had to be bought used as Audi had stopped building them with petrol engines, and so I had to drop the ACC requirement in order to find one that met the rest of my desired spec. Will definitely choose it again though the next time I do a new build.
