He gets about! I was walking along Sainsburys footpath through the middle of their car park Tuesday evening when an unlit cyclist suddenly appeared coming the other way. I said, "You need to get some lights, mate" and he said something in a sharp tone. Driving home later I saw him again on the pavement menacing more pedestrians. I did toy with the idea of turning my lights off and driving as near to him as he had been to me when I was on foot, but I'm not that irresponsible. Not yet, anyway.

I was in a colleagues car a while back and it was starting to get dark but he had no lights on (most of the people around us had) I said "are you not putting your lights on?" He said "no!" After asking him why, it turns out that he refuses to have to pay for a new bulb IF one was to blow. He would instead drive with no lights on! After a while they went on but only to sidelights and after some pressure from all of us in the car put the dipped beam on but it was still nearly dark before he agreed.
Ask him how many bulbs he can buy with his insurance excess and no claim bonus!
