Interesting report. I don't have one of those keys but I do wonder how they'll fix it. Guess they will have to change they're security algorithm and disable all the tools given out to so called lock smiths and of course genuine lock smiths will suffer too.

Actually, if you refer to the Audi security page, it seems to be recommending buying a crook lock.

Thats not really a solution given they could do it in a few minuets in any car park. Do they expect people to do that every time they park up. If it was just overnight then fair enough. They can fix this with better software, question is why aren't they.

I believe the weakness is the OBD port and in the case of my A4 the delay on the alarm is too long and allows the robbers enough time to break in connect to the OBD port. This weekend I will be disabling the OBD port on mine.

From what I've read it all comes down to the information about these security systems being openly available to Jo public so I've ordered one of these (GPS Car Tracker with GPRS and Vehicle Theft Protection System (Model:TK103A) GPS Car Tracker with GPRS and Vehicle Theft Protection: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics).

This means by the end of it I'll have two unique circuits I can remotely disable and only I will know about them plus I can track the car. I've used a more basic version on my old car and my experience was all positive.
